If you're in the area, the 24th annual Augusta Southern Nationals will be held on the Savannah River
this weekend. Drag boats race at speeds over 250 MPH! The Georgia Traveler team will be there Saturday during the time trials to feature the race in our upcoming third season. There are always great things to do at Georgia's State Parks. On Friday nights through August 21, you can bring the family to the Nature Center amphitheater for our weekly campfire featuring songs, almost-believable wilderness tales, and storytelling. Bring marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers for s'mores. Arrive by 7:45 p.m. to learn how to start a campfire. Please register in advance with the park. 770-389-7801.
