GA Foothills Journey Repeats

Thursday at 7pm, Georgia Traveler heads off on a “Georgia Foothills Journey”, exploring U.S. Interstate 575 from Jasper to Cartersville. Phil goes on a getaway to the Woodbridge Inn Restaurant and Lodge in Jasper while Keely discovers the local legend of the Tate House. Two Brothers Barbeque in Ball Ground serves up some fine food for Phil and David experiences family fun at the Archeology Day and Iron Pour at Red Top Mountain State Park. Keely and Phil enjoy all kinds of water sports at Lake Allatoona, with some help from a new friend at Paradise Boat Rental at Park Marina.

On an editorial note, the Traveler team would like to point out that the final segment was taped at Lake Allatoona in June, 2007 before the full impact of the current drought had been realized. The lake level that you see in this episode is obviously much higher than the current levels, but as you can see in this production still, the levels in this particular cove near Victoria were already dropping- just look at the floating docks in the background. We hope, as we're sure that all Georgians do, that there will be significant relief from the drought in 2008. Until then, we hope that everyone is doing what they can to help conserve water.

In a "behind-the-scenes" note, the producers would like to apologize to a crew member that was inadvertently left off of the credits. Matt Rasnick was our second camera and all-around production assistant for the first day of photography at Lake Allatoona. In the production still above, he is operating the boom microphone for Keely and Phil's closing as photographer Dan Hodlick frames up the shot. Here's a photo of Matt shooting second camera off of a pontoon boat. Thanks, Matt, for your hard work on Georgia Traveler and again, we're so sorry about the credits!
